Bible Distribution and Dicipleship

Bible distribution was the foundational mission for True Light Assemblies. They printed and distributed between one and two hundred bibles per month in the first six years of this project. Things have slowed a bit with current fundraising challenges further exacerbated by COVID measures and conflict at their borders. Still, the mission continues with regular bible studies.

Baptisms

Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. Mark 16:6

It goes without saying that baptism is one fruit of evangelism and discipleship.

Children’s Ministry

“And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever, therefore, shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.” Mat 18:3-5

Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. James 1:27

It goes without saying that Pakistan is a 10/40 window mission field in itself. True Light Assemblies does its best to serve widows and orphans among themselves in an increasingly marginalized Pakistani Christian population.

Education

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge Hosea 4:6

1 Peter 3:15 exhorts believers to always have and “apologia” a sound argument for the “reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.” Hence, Christian education rooted in sound doctrine is vital everywhere in the world. This is particularly important in Islamic nations. Anyone who has ever shared the Christian faith with a devout Muslim will know that Muslims are master apologists for their faith and quite often have a better command of the Bible than many believers. True Light Assemblies and staff are masters of sharing their worldview with meekness and fear, gentleness and respect. they instill these values in their children.

Brick Kiln Slavery

He hath shown thee, O man, what is good: and what doth the Lord require of thee but to do justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? Micha 6:8

Many remain unaware that slavery and indentured servitude are very much alive in the Muslim world. In Pakistan, there is a common form of indentured servitude known as “Brick Kiln Slavery” that capitalizes on the misfortune of families. There are many reasons why a Pakistani family might end up in debt. The last resort is often to take a high-interest loan from a brick factory owner with the collateral being the indenturing of one’s entire family should the debt not be repaid on time. When it is not repaid families go to live in factories and yards where they work making bricks, or cutting stones in quarries until the debt is paid off. This is a proverbial “Catch 22” in that they are often charged inflated prices for housing and food making it nearly impossible to work off the ever-accumulating interest let alone pay back principle. It’s a never-ending loop of debt that can carry on for generations. The only solution is a one-time cash payment to the factory owner. Even then these rescues are wrought with danger as keeping people indentured is more profitable for Brick Kiln slavers than to have the loan be paid in full.

Special Needs Children

So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen. Matthew 20:16

As if they needed more to do True Light Assemblies also runs a school for special needs children. This was actually one of their first ministries. Perhaps it is listed last here because the last shall indeed be first.
